Software Used for the Oracle Financials Test

Listed software components were provided by the vendor for test purposes.  Alternative client, browser, web server, operating system, and database products may be possible.

Category Component Purpose
Application  Oracle Financials This is the core accounting product. It includes: General Ledger; Payables; Receivables; and Federal Financials.
  Oracle Purchasing Automates the procure-to-pay business process for both direct and indirect materials including: purchasing; global spend analysis; sourcing; desktop requisitioning and receiving; electronic invoicing; payments; and supplier collaboration.
  Metalink Metalink is an optional web-based reference tool. It provides technically oriented documentation such as a data dictionary, database schemas, and system table definitions.
Server Oracle 9i Application Server Enables users to connect to the financial application over the web, to login, submit transactions, initiate standard queries and run reports, accessing all through a common portal.
  Oracle Discoverer Business information query tool. Includes portal; registry; ad hoc reporting and analysis; and, web publishing modules.
Database Oracle 8i v8.1.7.4 Relational database used for storing, managing, and retrieving application data.
Desktop Internet Explorer v5.5 Internet Explorer (IE) is an end-user client (browser). IE processes and displays web pages.
  Oracle Jinitiator Plug-in enables Java applets to be executed locally.
  Microsoft Excel Excel is a spreadsheet product. Excel was used to format some ad hoc query and reporting output to provide to JFMIP.
  Microsoft Word Word is document editor. Word was used to format reports to provide to JFMIP.
  Adobe Distiller This was used solely to produce PDF documents to provide to JFMIP.
  Adobe Acrobat The Acrobat product is used to view PDF-formatted items.
